A.A.G South African Field Forces 1899-1900”, three autograph letters signed, each discussing his various schemes to buy a newspaper such as The Cobourg World or The Lindsay Warder, with related ephemera, three letters patent appointing Malcolm McAlpine to various military positions, each respectively signed by Sir George Arthur, 1st Baronet (1784-1854), Colonial administrator, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, 1838-1841, James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin, Governor General of British North America from 1847 to 1854 and by Sir Edmund Walker Head, Governor General of Canada, 1854-61, and autograph signed letters from Eliza McAlpine to her husband John McAlpine, grandson of Malcolm McAlpine and a doctor in Lindsay
